the patient, the patients head must be held by the EMT-I doing the exam.
This way movement is not performed to fast and detection of resistance can
be felt.

EMT-I’s requesting nitro do so when they are ready for a FULL update on the
patients condition.
- Recert forms given to KIJ to be
taken to the ED to be signed. Services must get the forms back from KIJ.

- District Training Officer Meeting:
Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 1800 Rowell
- The district is in search of people
interested in becoming proctors for testing. Primarily this is for FRECA
classes.
- Doug Brent (Chief SBFD) had
question regarding I 03 Transition after July. What if folks get people
that are intermediates that need to be transitioned. How will the district
get those folks transitioned? Instructors will be discussing this at an
upcoming meeting.
FAHC / FACT:
- Andy Beaulieu (St. Mikes) wondering
what route to take people into triage? KIJ / Tara Pacy advised to take them
in via wheel chair and follow the “green” line.
- Andy Beaulieu (St. Mikes) heard
that FACT did a couple of intercepts and wondered if this will become
normal. Tara Pacy advised that FACT would no longer be doing this. These
were special circumstances and they are not licensed to do that. This
message came from ED medical direction. If you have questions regarding
this, please contact Tara Pacy.
MCI / CCRPC:
- Al Barber (Chief, Hinesburg FD)
advised that exercise planning is coming along. Al will email the updated
plans. There is a tabletop that is being planned to be held at Essex High
School. As many folks that can attend the better. Al Barber is the point
of contact for this.
- Jim Laskarzewski (Asst. Chief,
VTANG) advised the airport will be purchasing pagers for each dispatch
centers for the ease of phase notification.
- Lee Jones (Richmond / IBM Rescue)
heard that there might be a LEPC inspiring State ID badges. Al Barber
advised he is aware of this but there is more discussion to happen before
its official.
Logistics / Policies / Licensing:
- Mike Richard (Bat. Chief, BFD)
Advised as of this meeting (0800, October 14, 2004) South Burlington Fire
Department will be the primary EMS agency responding to calls at the
Burlington International Airport. Secondary EMS agency will be UVM Rescue.
- Lee Jones (Richmond / IBM Rescue)
advised that people need to send their licenses in for review before the
next district meeting. The licensing committee will review them and have
medical direction sign them.
- Lee Jones (Richmond / IBM Rescue)
advised that services need to send in their “out of service” quarterly
reports in. He has only received one so far (SMRS).
- Chris Putnam (Asst. Chief Hinesburg
Fire) advised that Hinesburg is looking at UVM to be the primary ambulance
into the community. This is still in an investigation phase.
- Howie Rice (Chief, Essex Fire)
advised that the County Chief’s have revised the Heavy Rescue response list
and dispatch centers are aware of changes.
- Howie Rice (Chief, Essex Fire) has
a concern regarding ambulance responses near the districts borders. Why
can’t a service from another district come into district 3 if they are
closer? There have been a couple calls lately where this concern was
brought up. Also, if a service is at the hospital just finishing a call,
and another run comes in why can’t the back up service take the call? If
the first due service has to drive by the other one, that does not make
sense. In a way we are delaying patient care. It was advised that Chief
Rice bring this up at the next Logistics / Policies meeting. Chief Rice
advised that he would.
Old Business:
- Darren Adams brought up for
discussion the Committees Changes to see if there were any questions
regarding the changes. No discussion.
- Darren Adams brought up the vote on
acceptance of the bi-law change on committees. A motion was made by Lee
Jones and seconded by Leslie Lindquist. Motion carried.
- Anyone interested in being on a
committee needs to contact Mike O’Neil via email (meoneil@ci.burlington.vt.us).
New Business:
Nothing
brought up
Motion to close made by Colin Shea (Essex Fire),
seconded by Mike Richard (BC BFD). End of meeting @ 1915.
