APPROVAL OF MINUTES (Lindquist)
- Motion to approve November 2006 minutes as published
(Thomas/Jones). Motion approved.
CORRESPONDENCE (Lindquist)
- From VTEMS: correspondence from Mike O’Keefe
regarding the new AHA CPR / AED guidelines. (Jones) What about joule
settings? (Lindquist/Soons) Awaiting State protocol revision and further
direction from District Medical Advisor.
TREASURY
(Danaher)
- Checking $12,687.22; no change in Merrill Lynch
account.
- All dues paid with the exception of one service –
being addressed.
MEDICAL DIRECTION (Soons for James)
- HeArt fully funded and bids for monitors have now
yielded lower prices. Continuing to negotiate with manufacturers.
- Any paperwork requiring Medical Advisor signature can
be routed through the clerk this week.
FAHC (Helmken)
- No new news.
- (Soons) On behalf of the EMT-Intermediate course,
thank you very much for the time and effort committed to helping the EMT-I
students. There has been a great deal of positive feedback.
- (Jaquith) Software update for Zoll has been received,
Medtronic’s update is enroute. Please,
please, please, please make sure there are data cards in your service
defibrillators so that the info can be downloaded.
- (Jaquith) Soap dispenser in decon room – dayshift
housekeeper is working really hard to keep up with EMS stuff, as well as her
other duties.
- (Jaquith) Echo Gil – everyone is doing a great job,
- (Danaher) Visiting – hard to hear what Radio room is
saying b/c too much background noise
TRAINING (Malone)
- (Malone) Final exam for EMT-B twice weekly – all
students have met the State requirements for testing. These students will
be the first to take an electronic test. As of today, the State has not set
up the online registration piece with NREMT website. Practical exam 1/13 at
0900.
- (Soons) EMT-I students are finishing their clinical
experience.
- (Malone) EMT-B once weekly with Jason Ziter – going
well, has the month off.
- (Malone) Deadline is this Friday 12/15 for the 1st
responder course presented by Becca Webb – 8 so far.
- (Malone) Modules – four testing.
- (Malone) EMT-B Spring twice weekly beginning 1/16 –
applications due tonight.
- (Malone) The entrance exam for the spring EMT-I course
will be held 1/13 in conjunction with certification testing. If a student is
an expired EMT-I or has a NREMT-B exam score >80, they are exempt. The
spring EMT-I course begins April 2 and will test Thursday 6/28. The days of
the week are still to be determined. Send email to Pat re: entrance exam:

meeting.
- (Soons) Summer EMT-B applications due at the March
meeting as well.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (Lindquist)
- Committee met tonight (Butkus, Danaher, Laskarzewski,
Putnam, Barber (unable to attend). Two foci:
- MCI plan development – task assignments
- Code 2/3 data – SOG forthcoming
- Any questions – forward.
ADMINISTRATION (Soons)
- 2006/4th quarter ALS/OOS reports due
1/11/07
- District website updated with current bylaws.
PUBLIC INFORMATION (Soons)
OLD BUSINESS (Lindquist)
- Resource Committee happy to take on the provider level
study. MCI plan revision will take priority.
NEW BUSINESS (Lindquist)
- (Lindquist) Regarding First Responder Course
Coordinator Policy - (Malone) Checklist process was a QA effort to give
some guidance to instructors. (Butkus) Suggestion is that if you are not a
VTEMS I/C, you go through the checklist. If you are a VTEMS I/C, you do not
need to go through the checklist. (Lindquist read proposed edits to
policy). Motion to change First Responder Course Coordinator Policy as
presented (Baron/Jones). Discussion ensued. Motion approved.
Motion to adjourn at 1938 (Baron/Thomas). Next meeting
Thursday January 11, 2007, same location.
