Hinesburg Fire Department First Response

• Service Description: Hinesburg Fire Department is licensed as a first responder agency covering EMS calls in the towns of Hinesburg and St. George.  EMS duties are handled by members of the First Response division within the fire department. Many of our members serve roles as both fire fighters and EMTs, however it is not required that members are involved with both parts of the Department.  First Responders are dispatched to all EMS calls in the 2 towns we serve and begin treating patients while waiting for the arrival of an ambulance from St. Michael's College or from one of our neighboring towns' squads to transport the patient to the hospital.  HFR members are supplied with emergency medical equipment and utilize a Dodge Durango SUV that is fully equipped with a defibrillator, backboards, IV supplies and other important medical equipment.
