Training Committee Minutes 12 April, 2001

Chair Greg Thweatt called the meeting to order at 1835 hours. Those in attendance were:

Approval of Minutes

Motion to accept minutes of Mar 8, 2001 meeting by Kevin Williams, second by Jeff. Motion passed.

Motion by Kevin Williams, second by Jeff to amend meeting agenda to new business only. Motion passed.

New Business:

• Module 1 & 2 class: (Pat) Syllabus distributed. First time being offered  in District #3. May 1st registration deadline. Students will be required to take a pre-test, continuation in class depends on successful completion of pre-test. Strongly recommended that students purchase the EMT textbook and workbook. Both are available at the UVM medical bookstore. Cost is $95.00 for course, contact Pat with questions. Motion to accept course proposal by Jeff, second by Kevin Wood. Motion passed.
  
• Summer EMT-B course: (Pat) Motion to accept course proposal by Kevin Williams, second by Jim Kellogg. Syllabus distributed. Course to follow similar schedule as last summer with addition of Wednesday evenings, to shorten course length. PEPP class and full Hazmat Awareness class added. Really motivated students last summer resulted in a very successful course. Enrollment will be open to non-district #3 people after May 1st. Course limited to 16 people. $295 for district #3 affiliates, $395 for others. Motion passed.
  
• Fall EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate course: (Pat) Motion to accept course proposal by Kathy, second by Kevin Wood. Syllabus distributed. Course similar to last year with minor additions. EMT-I course price increase due to expected supply cost increase, catheter price has almost doubled. Class starts Aug 27th, enrollment will be open to non-district #3 people after July 1st. Motion passed.
  

• Elections: Floor opened for nominations for Clerk. Pat nominates Ski (Jim Laskarzewski), second by Kathy. Kathy motions for nominations to be closed and for the clerk to cast one ballot, second by Pat. Ski re-elected.

  Floor opened for nominations for Chair. Greg Thweatt nominated for Chair by Kevin Wood, second by Jim Kellogg. Ray motions for nominations to be closed and for the clerk to cast one ballot, second by Pat. Greg re-elected.

• Announcement: Notices for the upcoming Telehealth Trauma Series will be posted to the listserver.

  Meeting adjourned at 1857 hours.
